Roof replacement by Watson Exteriors

Alberta · Saskatchewan · Manitoba

Services

Prairie weather is the whole design brief. Hail, chinooks and forty-below decide what goes on a wall and what comes back off it three years later. Here's what we install across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and how we handle a storm claim from first inspection to final walkthrough.

Storm damage

Hail hits.
We put it back.

A single storm can bruise shingles, split siding, dent eavestrough and tear screens in ten minutes. Most of it isn't obvious from the driveway — which is why a proper inspection, documented with photographs, is worth more than a number shouted from the curb.

Claim 01

Proper inspection

We walk the roof and every elevation, photograph the bruising and hits, and review those images with you — then tell you honestly whether it is worth opening a claim. On-site assessments are $150.

Claim 02

We meet the adjuster

Where possible we're on site with your insurer, with the scope and photos they need. Across the prairies most hail claims cover roofing, siding, screens and eavestrough together.

Claim 03

Repair & walkthrough

Our crews do the work, clean the site daily and magnet-sweep before leaving. You get a walkthrough before the final invoice.

What we install

Exteriors that hold

Quality work by quality crews. Every job is measured on site and quoted in writing, with the products and colours named before anything is ordered.

Siding installation by Watson Exteriors

Siding

James Hardie fiber cement resists rot and shrugs off hailstorms for decades. Vinyl is the value pick — fast to install, huge colour range, and easy to patch a single elevation after a storm. LP and board-and-batten profiles where the look calls for it.

Shingle roofing by Watson Exteriors

Roofing

Shingles and custom metal, including impact-rated Class 4 upgrades that many insurers discount in hail-prone areas. Our installers have decades of combined experience on complex valleys and custom profiles.

Window and door installation by Watson Exteriors

Windows & doors

New builds and retrofits, plus soundproof options for busy streets. Finished with LP Smart Trim or Hardie trim so openings look intentional rather than patched around.

Custom metal fabrication by Watson Exteriors

Custom metal

Flashing, cladding and trim bent to profile in-house, so the detail matches the building instead of the nearest stock part. Standing seam where the roofline deserves it.

Soffit, fascia and eavestrough work by Watson Exteriors

Gutters, soffit & fascia

Eavestrough, downspouts, soffit and fascia — the parts that take the worst of a hailstorm and the first thing an adjuster looks at. Replaced as part of a claim or on their own.

Next step

Storm damage,
or just tired siding?

Either way it starts the same — someone on site with a ladder and a camera, and a set of photographs we go through with you afterwards. On-site assessments are $150, and there is no obligation to open a claim or book the work.

Common questions

Hail & claims.

How do I know if I have hail damage?

Usually you don't, from the ground. Bruising on asphalt shingles often doesn't show as a hole — it shows as a soft spot where the granules have been knocked loose, and it fails a season or two later. Dented eavestrough, torn screens and split vinyl on the storm-facing elevation are the giveaways worth checking yourself.

Will a claim raise my premium?

That's between you and your insurer, and it varies by policy and provider. What we can tell you is whether the damage is real and how extensive it is, so you can make that call with the facts in front of you. We won't push you to open a claim that isn't worth it.

What is Class 4 shingle and is it worth it?

Class 4 is the top impact-resistance rating for asphalt shingles. Across the prairie hail belt — southern Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba — many insurers offer a premium discount for it, so the upgrade often pays for part of itself over the life of the roof.

How long does a hail repair take?

A straightforward roof is usually a day or two once materials land. A full claim covering roofing, siding, eavestrough and screens runs longer and depends on how quickly the adjuster signs off. We'll give you a realistic window in the written scope, not a best case.

Do you work outside Calgary?

Yes. We serve all of Western Canada — Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba — with Calgary and the surrounding communities as our home base.
